Plasma Filaments

Plasma filaments are narrow, thread-like structures of electric current and magnetic field found in ionized gases (plasmas). They occur across an enormous range of scales—from laboratory plasma discharges to interstellar space—and are a defining feature of plasma behavior in both conventional plasma physics and alternative cosmological theories like the Electric Universe and Plasma Cosmology.
