Z-Pinch (short for Z-axis Pinch) is a method of plasma confinement that utilizes the self-generated magnetic fields of a high-intensity electric current to compress, or “pinch,” plasma along the axis of current flow (typically denoted as the Z-axis in cylindrical coordinates). This phenomenon is of central importance in both fusion research and the Electric Universe (EU) theory, where it is also invoked to explain cosmic-scale plasma formations such as stars and galaxies.
